Regulated parking – Madrid

INDIGO has revolutionized the management of controlled parking in Madrid with a state-of-the-art digital system, optimizing urban mobility. Its technology enables automated control, flexible payment and dynamic pricing, helping to reduce pollution and improve traffic flow.

INDIGO Spain is one of the main companies responsible for managing surface parking in the north of Madrid. Since 2006, it has been working with the Madrid city council to deploy an integrated mobility solution. This comprehensive approach, focusing on vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, is based on a centralized digital platform, identifying users by license plate recognition.

The system incorporates major innovations: automated camera plate reading, real-time access to operational and financial data, and dynamic pricing based on environmental criteria. The latter aims to encourage the use of low-emission vehicles and promote vehicle rotation in dense areas, thus reducing pollution and improving mobility.

The City of Madrid monitors the service through key performance indicators, guaranteeing high standards of quality and efficiency. INDIGO offers drivers a variety of payment options: cash, credit card, mobile app and e-wallet. They can also extend their parking or pay their fines via the app or the pay and display machines.

Beyond Madrid, INDIGO Spain manages 7,000 on-street parking spaces in Zaragoza.
