Background and challenges

The challenge of this project? Organize the renovation of a 660-space car park in the heart of a district undergoing major transformation. Above: social housing under renovation and a project to modernize the paved and surrounding area, undertaken by the city and developer Val de Seine Aménagement. Nearby: occupied offices and direct-access shopping arcades, that are still under development.

Safety, accessibility and new services

A major modernization program has been undertaken, including:

  • Compliance as part of a fire safety master plan,
  • Improving accessibility for people with reduced mobility and creating direct pedestrian access to rue du Vieux Pont de Sèvres,
  • Secure access to the infrastructure with access control and operating assistance equipment,
  • Renewal of equipment and general enhancement (paintwork and signage),
  • Mobility services (electric recharging stations, bicycle racks, etc.).

The work was carried out in a complex phased approach to ensure continuity of operation, gradual opening of the renovated areas and independence from the adjoining private car parks. After 2 years of work on an occupied site, the renovated car park was ready for use.
